Reverend Neal Locklear, Jr., age 55, departed this earthly life on Monday, January 11th, 2021. Rev. Neal was born on April 6th, 1965 to Bobby and Emmar Jane Locklear and was the eldest son of their eight children. He is preceded in death by both of his parents, as well as two sisters, Brenda Diggers and Michelle Arthurs.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Carrie A. Locklear; and his son, Joshua Locklear, both of Maxton; his daughters, Karen Chavis of Pembroke and Kayla Locklear of Maxton; his granddaughters, Jayla and Kiley; his sisters, Debbie Chavis of Gibson and Wanda Williams of Maxton; his brothers, Bobby Locklear, Jr. and Marcus Locklear (Elizabeth) of Maxton, Douglas Locklear (Kelly) of Pembroke; as well as a host of relatives and friends.
Rev. Neal was many wonderful things: a devoted husband, a loving father, a dependable brother, a hard worker, a generous friend. Above all this, he was a faithful servant of Christ. He readily preached the gospel message for years, professing to others of how God transformed his life on July 23rd, 1988. His heartfelt sermons, his beautiful smile, and his warm presence will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
