Willie Chavis Obituary
Mr. Willie Ray Chavis, 82, of Lumberton passed away Tuesday April 16, 2024, at home. Mr. Willie Ray Chavis was born in Robeson County on November 21, 1941. He will be remembered for his great love of family, fishing, farming, and for gardening a lifetime, a dedicated church member, and family man.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Chavis and mother, Docia Chavis.
Mr. Ray leaves to cherish his fond memories his wife of 55 years, Lena Chavis; a daughter, Debbie Chavis Locklear (Gene); a grandson, Devyn Ray Locklear (Kelsey Lamb); four great-granddaughters, Salarah, Sadayla, Laniyah, and Daenerys; grandson, Mark Frederick Locklear Jr. (Victoria Locklear); two brothers, Earl Chavis and Billy Chavis (Jane); one sister, Jeanette Locklear; and a host of family and friends.
