Terry Ray Bass

Terry Ray Bass, 66 of 309 Gough St. Pembroke, NC was born March 2, 1951 and departed this life into eternity with our Lord Jesus Christ on December 7, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Billy Ray Bass and Mrs. Louise Simmons Bass.

   Mr. Bass leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Janet Hunt Bass of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Jana-Rae Bass Locklear (Brannigan) of Pembroke, Terra Sanderson of Pembroke, and Wendy Hunt of Pembroke and one son, Jason Hunt (Joanna) of Pembroke; nine grandchildren, Bransleigh, Chandon, Logan, Malina, Jaron, Tyler, Whitney, Taylor, and Joyce; and one great- grandchild, Aubree.

   Terry was a veteran of the US Army where he dedicated six years of service to our country. Afterwards, Terry became the proud owner of Rowland Tire Service before selling and opening his own trucking company, Bass Trucking in 1988. After closing Bass Trucking, Terry couldn’t give up his love for trucking and went to work for Perdue Transportation Inc. where he was currently employed. Terry had a passion for racing, horses and restoring old cars but his heart and soul was his grandchildren. Terry was looking forward to the arrival of his newest grandson, Braxton, in January. He recently spent a week in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee with his family where he enjoyed watching his three youngest grandchildren racing go-karts and joined in the fun himself.
