James Herman Oxendine

James Herman Oxendine completed his earthly pilgrimage on Friday, December 8th 2017.  He was born December 18, 1933 in the Union Chapel community. James (Herman) was a well respected business man and founder of Oxendine’s Heating and A/C.  He was preceded in death by his father, James S. Oxendine, mother, Docia Oxendine, grandson Master Driston Swett and eight treasured siblings.  

Herman leaves behind his beloved wife of 55 years Merdis, two daughters, Jonnie Hunt and Sheila Hardee (Dennis).  He also leaves three sons, James Darrin Oxendine (Allison), Christopher D. Oxendine and Johnny Scott (Karen).  Herman was affectionately known as Papa to fourteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.  Herman was a special eldest brother to sixteen siblings, eight of which who remain behind. He loved his family and we glory in the knowledge that we will one day see him again.
