Mr. William Kendrick Godwin affectionately known as Kendrick of Lumberton, NC was welcomed on September 4, 1993 and entered his final resting place on August 26, 2023, completing life's journey of 29 years. Kendrick was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Mr. William & Mrs. Frances Godwin.
Kendrick, leaves to cherish, his pride and joy, his son Kylan Godwin, also known as Blue. His loving parents Mr. William Daniel and Mrs. Melanie Godwin, his only sister Danielle (Douglas) of Raleigh, his maternal grandparents Gloris Young and Kenneth (Anita) Allen, a special niece Cailyn, his significant other Gabbie Locklear, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends. Kendrick consistently told his family how much he loved them and never left without a hug or an "I love you".
Kendrick was known for bringing joy and laughter to everyone he encountered both young and old with his carefree spirit. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and loving everyday. He was a dedicated employee of Campbell Soup and in his spare time he enjoyed riding his Harley with his biker family Poorboyz Racing or hunting and running dogs with his hunting family DemBoyz Forever.
To Kendrick, family was important. Many days were spent gathering together. Our most recent gathering was to celebrate his son and his niece's birthday. In this time of sorrow, we find solace in knowing Kendrick had recently expressed to his family that God had been dealing with him. His mother's last encouraging words were "Son, we pray for you even when you don't know it." Kendrick, this isn't goodbye but I'll see you later.
