Wilbert Hunt Jr.

Mr. Wilbert Hunt Jr. was born September 24, 1953 in Robeson County. He is the son of the late Mr. Wilbert Hunt Sr. and Mrs. Ida Mae Cummings Hunt of Lumberton. Mr. Wilbert departed this life on Saturday July 24, 2021 at UNC Health Southeastern.

He is preceded in death by his father, Wilbert Sr.; his mother, Ida Mae; brothers, Robert "Anthony" Hunt and Leo Hunt; one niece, Leandra "Dana" and a sister-in-law, Connie Hunt.

Mr. Wilbert was a humble soul who enjoyed gardening, fishing, woodworking and mostly vacationing and spending time with h is family. For everyone he loved and knew he was always a phone call away, always ready to lend a helping hand. He was our JR and will forever be in our hearts. Mr. Wilbert was a dependable and reliable employee of Allied Fire Protections for 35 years, where he leaves behind an abundance of friends.

Mr. Hunt leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Rosa Hunt of the home; his son, Jason Hunt (Chelse) of Red Springs; his daughter, Jessica Hunt of Fairmont; two grandsons, Jamien Scott and Hayden Scott; three granddaughters, Lania Hunt, Hayley Scott and Kinley Hunt; one brother, Leon Hunt of Lumberton; two sisters, Mary Bonds of Jacksonville, FL and Betty Bumgardner (Frank "Buzz" Bumgardner) of Gastonia and a sister-in-law, Jean Hunt of Lumberton. Mr. Wilbert also leaves to cherish his special memories with four sister-in-laws; five brother-in-laws; a special nephew, Mark Hunt; nieces, Michelle Hunt, Leann Hunt and Stephanie Boldin; eight nieces; four nephews along with a host of relatives and friends.
