Waylon "Ran" Kennedy, 65, of Hayes Locklear Road was born February 12, 1960, and departed this Earth June 1, 2025. He was preceded in death by his father Wayland Kennedy, paternal grandparents, Manly and Ella Kennedy, and maternal grandparents, Hayes and Phoda Locklear. 

Ran graduated from UNCP, formerly known as Pembroke State University in 1982 double majoring in Religion and Sociology. He enjoyed going to church and reading the Bible. Ran was awarded numerous pins for continuous Sunday service attendance without missing a day for at least 13 years. 

Ran is survived by his mother Geneva Kennedy of Pembroke, NC, sister Ginger Brooks of Bennettsville, SC, brothers Melvin Kennedy and Chris Kennedy of Bolivia, NC.
