Mr. Timothy Chavis age 68 of Rowland, North Carolina was born on September 18, 1957, to the late Mrs. Myrtle Ruth "Mirt" Chavis and Mr. William Harris “Buddy” Chavis. He was the grandson of the late Mr. Hudler Hunt and late Mrs. Naomi Brooks Hunt. He departed this life into his heavenly home on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at McLeod Hospital in Florence, South Carolina surrounded by his loving family. Along with his parents and grandparents he is preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Harris Chavis. He served in the United States Marine Corps in the 1970s.
He leaves to cherish his memories, one son, Thomas Oxendine (Sherrie) and three grandchildren: Josiah, Trinity and Serenity Oxendine. Also, four brothers, Sammy Chavis of Dillon, South Carolina, Ronnie Chavis, Purdie Chavis (Cathy), Steve Chavis (Frieda), all of Rowland, North Carolina; five sisters, Diane Chavis Bartley of Harrisburg, North Carolina; Janice Chavis Locklear of Fayetteville, North Carolina; Naomi Jane Chavis Lambert (Johnny) of Rowland, North Carolina; Doreen Chavis Hunt (CSM Garry) of Lumber Bridge, North Carolina; Jenny Chavis of Rowland, North Carolina; one special niece, Angie Bralley (Chad) of Edisto Island, South Carolina. A host of nephews and nieces. A special thanks to Mr. Jodie Revels and Revels Funeral Home, Beulah Baptist Church, and McLeod Hospital in Florence, South Carolina.
