Shirlene Hammonds, 78, of Lumberton, NC went into eternity, Friday, January 2, 2026, at her residence.
Mrs. Hammonds was born Monday, December 1, 1947, in Robeson County to Douglas and Emily Lowery.
Shirlene enjoyed her flowers, shopping, cooking for her children, spending quality time with her grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending time with her loving and caring church family.
She is survived by her children, Anita (Chris) Fipps, Burley Hammonds, Jr, Larry (Shannon) Hammonds, Marlo (Robert Eric) Shipman, Eric Dewayne (Michaela) Hammonds, Ronnie Glenn (Wendy) Hammonds, one sister, Lillian Tyler, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a special friend, Florence McGirt.
She is preceded in death by her parents, who raised her, Ambrose and Virgie Locklear, her husband Burley Hammonds, sisters, Mary Louis Locklear, Rose Locklear and brother, Ambrose Locklear, Jr., as well as other brothers and sisters.
