Savannah Jane Barton

Savannah Jane Barton, 87, of Lumberton, NC, departed this earthly life on December 29, 2024 surrounded by her family.

She was born in Scotland County on September 5, 1937. She is preceded in death by her husband Herbert Barton, grandson, Ricky Brandon Barton and a daughter, Blanch Lambert.

Savannah leaves behind her children, daughter, Helen Lawson (L.H.), two sons, Ricky Barton (Cherry), and Michael Barton (Norma). She was a proud grandmother of nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren, and a host of special family and friends.

Savannah was a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to many. She loved being outside planting flowers, tending to her chickens and her garden. Being "in the yard" was an everyday thing for her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her and the many memories of camping and road trips, ice cream dates and a cup of Kool-Aid with a honeybun. She was a lifetime member of Smyrna Baptist Church and her devotion to her faith reminding us that "the Lord has been good to us" will remain with us forever.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2025 at Smyrna Baptist Church at 3pm with Rev. Carl A. Pevia, Rev. Danny Oxendine and Rev. Shelley Dial officiating. Interment will follow in the Robeson Memorial Park under the direction of Revels Funeral Home
