Obituary
Sarah Hunt Alred, 87, of Lumberton, NC was born on January 8th, 1935, to the late Joe Scott and Tessie Hunt. She completed her earthly journey on Tuesday, April 19th surrounded by her family at home.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, William “Sam” Alred, an infant daughter, Angela Marie Alred, and another daughter Alice Faye Oxendine.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories three daughters, Carolyn (Harley) Locklear and Shelia (Wayne) Carter both of Lumberton, NC and Betty Alred of Louisiana. Two sons, Lacy “Bill” Hunt and Gerald Alred both of Lumberton, NC; eighteen grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, family and friends.
She dedicated her life to caring for her family as a homemaker. She was a member of New Point Baptist Church for several decades. She was a wonderful and loving mother to her children and loved to fish and garden. Those who knew her, loved her.
