Samantha (Sam) Kay Oxendine 57, of Lumberton, NC departed this life in the arms of Jesus to join her loved ones on November 16, 2025 at UNC Health Southeastern, Lumberton NC.

Sam was born April 3, 1968, the daughter of the late Shird Oxendine and the late Ruth Maynor Oxendine. Sam was also preceded in death by her brother, Tommy Lynn Maynor and her sister Wanda Dale Locklear.

Sam is survived by two daughters, Gabrielle Thompson of Lumberton, NC, and WynterGale Oxendine of Iowa, four grandchildren, Wanda Allen, Cody Allen, Jolene Chavis and Asher Chavis.

Sam is survived by four brothers, Morrison Oxendine and wife Brenda of Red Springs, NC, Shird Ray Oxendine and wife Judy of Lumberton, NC, James Oxendine and wife Sharlene of Rowland, NC and David Oxendine of Lumberton, NC, three sisters, Joanie Locklear of Red Springs, NC, Jeanne Lowry of Lumberton, NC, Barbara Oxendine and fiance' Edward Setzer of Huntersville, NC, several dear and precious friends, Renee and Michael Levinson, Crystal and Chris Brown, Deanne Hunt, Selethia Locklear, Barbara with the Lumbee Tribe and her West Robeson Class of 1986 classmates.
