Ruth Jones Obituary
Mrs. Ruth Lowery Jones, age 93 of Lumberton, was born June 29,1928 in Buncombe County, NC to the late William Von and Nancy Russell Lowery. Mrs. Jones departed this life on November 27, 2021. She began working at Converse in 1967. She had a passion for sewing and the textiles industry. She retired at the age of 59 and continued being a homemaker and helping in her community. Mrs. Ruth was an active member of Northside Independent church. She worked on the farm with her parents. She was the best biscuit maker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Von and Nancy Russell Lowery, infant son Jerry Jones, her husband Curtis”Buck” Jones and daughter Linda”Lynn” Locklear.
She is survived by her children: Ronald Ray Jones (Elizabeth) of Lumberton; Ree Jean Deese (Ertle) of Fairmont; Jeniva Oxendine ( Charlie) and Ricky Jones of Lumberton, 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 21 great great grandchildren.
