Ruby Mae Hunt Obituary

Ruby Mae Hunt, 79 of Fairmont NC, went on to be with the Heavenly Father on Wednesday January 8, 2025. She was born in Dillon, SC on March 23, 1951.

She was preceded in death by her loving mother Stella Mae Oxendine, her loving sister Linda Faye Oxendine, and her loving brother James Ronnie Oxendine. She is survived by her special Aunt Virginia Lewis of Lumberton, and two special nieces who were like her daughters, DeAnna Oxendine Hernandez (Micheal) of Lumberton North Carolina, and Melinda McGirt of Mobile, Alabama, two brothers Richard Oxendine of Rowland, and Larry Oxendine of Charlotte, and a host of special family and friends.

Ruby Mae was a wonderful sister and aunt, a cherished member of her church community and was a friend to many. She had a love and passion for singing gospel hymns and reading the word of God. She enjoyed many hobbies including crafting, word puzzles, coloring and in her younger years you would find her by the water with a cane pole catching a fish or two! There was never a time when she didn’t have a smile on her face, and you could hear her infectious laugh from anywhere in the room! Such a sweet and humble spirit she had, she would not only tell you she loved you, but she would also show you. Ruby Mae had a gift for remembering birthdays and would always make it a point to send a card with a handwritten note every year to those she loved and cared for, this is one of the many things that made her so special and cherished. Ruby Mae was a beacon of unwavering friendship and kindness and left an unforgettable mark on the hearts of all who knew her, and she will surely be missed.
