Ronald “Ray” Mae Scott Hunt was born on May 19, 1945, in Robeson County. She departed this life on April 16, 2025 at her home in Fairmont, NC.

She attended Fairgrove High School, and she loved spending time with her family, cooking and baking, and going to church. Ronald assisted with Vacation Bible School and was also a member of the drama team at New Point Baptist Church.  She worked five years at Walmart and eleven years at Comtempra Fabric as a knitter.

She is preceded in death by her parents Dannie and Gretel Scott, four brothers, Earl Scott Jr., Jack Scott, Roosevelt Scott, and David Ray Scott, two sisters, Patricia Ann Kirby and Lelia “Faye” Mitchell, and one grandson Brandon Murray.

She leaves behind memories of her spouse, F.M. Hunt of the home, a daughter Melissa (Terry) Murray, a son Danny Scott all of Lumberton, a son William Katzenberger of Raleigh.  Three stepdaughters, Sandra Jacobs, Twanna Hunt of Fairmont, and Victoria Oxendine of Pembroke, three stepsons, Ted Hunt and Mitchell Hunt of Fairmont and David Hunt of Lumberton, sisters Evelyn Hardin, Pat Sampson both of Lumberton, Rosie Brewer of Maxton, Dora Lee Locklear of Red Springs and one brother, Randy Ray Scott of Winston Salem and a host of family and friends. She loved her eight grandchildren, Kierra Murray, Daniel Murray, Ashley Katzenberger, Travis Katzenberger, Ivory Katzenberger, Wesley Katzenberger, Terry Murray Jr., Jerry Murray, Christopher Bryan Murray, and Keya Cummings, and five great grandchildren.
