Mr. Richard Terry Locklear, 67, of Saddletree Community, Lumberton, died Monday October 21, 2019. He was born in Lumberton to Essie and Norwood Locklear, he grew up in Trenton, New Jersey and returned to North Carolina in 1990 and became a Whiteville Police Officer.
He later worked as a mechanic repairing military Humvees at Fort Bragg. He served in the Army Reserve Corps from 1970 – 1975. His passion for the Philadelphia Eagles was unparalleled and he always believed that the NFH team would bring home the Super bowl trophy.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Patricia Simms, Jeannie Coltre, and Charline Gerepka.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Ireene Locklear of Saddletree; a son, Richard Norwood Locklear and daughter Vannessa Lockwood, both of Pennsylvania; siblings Diane Wykoff of Maryland, Synda Lamont, Lynda Locklear and James Locklear all of New Jersey in addition to many nieces nephews, relatives and friends in Robeson County.
