Mr. Remer “Barney” Oxendine 83, of Pembroke, NC was born on May 12, 1941, in Robeson County and departed this life on March 19, 2025, at, Morrison Manor Hospice House. He is preceded in death by his parents Earnest and Roberta Oxendine; his wife Peggy J. Oxendine, one son Larry Oxendine, one granddaughter Megan Ann Oxendine, one great granddaughter Mya Odum, four brothers; John, Marlie, Luke, James Earnest, and Purdie Ray (Boss) six sisters; Illa Mae, Lenore, Ethel, Gertrude, Mattie and Evie.
Mr. Barney leaves behind to cherish his memories, his three daughters; Karen Oxendine Lowry, Audria O. Cummings (Jimmie Ray), and Jennifer L. Oxendine all of Pembroke NC; four grandsons; Kelly Grayson Hunt (Ana), Ethan Cole Oxendine, James Christian Cummings all of Pembroke NC and Alec Matthew Hunt of Vass, NC. three granddaughters; Khelia L. Oxendine, Ciera L. Oxendine, and Taylor M. Oxendine all of Pembroke, NC, eight great grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
Mr. Barney was a devout Christian and devoted member of Victory Holiness Church. He was a loving Father and Grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his family. He also had a tremendous love for classic cars and spent a lot of time attending car shows, cruise in’s & other activities associated with Crossroad Cruisers for Christ and Tuesday Cruisers, the car clubs he was affiliated with. He was a loyal friend to many and a kind, gentle spirit to all who knew him.
