Omar Chavis Obituary

Omar Olvera Chavis, age 21, of Rennert, North Carolina, passed away on Sunday night, July 21, 2025. Though his time here was short, his presence left a lasting impact on everyone who had to the blessing of knowing him.

Born to Jolene Chavis and Omar Aldape (Mario), Omar was a proud graduate of St. Pauls High School. He was a young man full of life, energy, and charm-known for his love of chickens, his trucks, hunting, and music. From an early age, Omar had a deep connection to the outdoors. He could often be found fixing up the truck, feeding his chickens, or planning his next hunting trip. These weren't just hobbies---they were parts of who he was, and they brought him true happiness. Omar had a smile that could light up any room and a laugh that made people feel safe, loved, and seen. His sense of humor and natural charm made it easy for others to be themselves around him. He brought joy wherever he went, and he had a way of making everyone feel like family. He had a strong, gentle spirit and always looked out for the people he loved-and he loved hard. He lived boldly, loved deeply, and never missed a chance to bring joy into someone's day. His presence will be missed in ways words can't fully express, but his spirit, his smile, and his heart will forever live on in those who knew and loved him.

Omar is preceded in death by his grandparents, Ethel Lambert Chavis and Troy Chavis, Jr.

He is survived by his loving mother, Jolene Chavis and father, Omar Aldape (Mario), two brothers, Trok Chavis and Austin Chavis, and two sisters, Celeste Chavis and Sabrina Chavis, two aunts, Penny Chavis, and Troylenia Chavis, three uncles Russ Chavis, Roylee Chavis, and Farely Chavis, his cherished nephew, Lucas Apaez, a special niece, Layla Renee Locklear, a host of aunts and uncles, and around twelve special first cousins he grew up closely with.

His family was everything to him. Whether he was goofing off with his cousins, listening to music with his siblings, or simply sitting outside and enjoying the air - Omar made every moment memorable.
