Ola Emanuel

   Ola Butler Emanuel, age 85, of Lumberton, NC passed peacefully away on July 4, 2020.

   She was born on September 22, 1934 in Lumberton, NC to James and Magdalene Butler. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Emanuel; sister, Ages Butler; and her brother, James “Murph” Butler; granddaughters, Malinda Brewington and Erin Ashley Emanuel; nephews, Michael and Stacy Butler.

   Left to cherish her memories are her children, Harry (LaVerna) Emanuel, LouAnn Emanuel, Dwayne (Marian) Emanuel and Katrina (Rusty) Locklear, all of Lumberton; her grandchildren, Kimberly (Thorton) Lowery, Natalie Emanuel, Joshua Emanuel all of Lumberton, Jeremy (Nina) Emanuel of Raleigh, NC and Justin (Kyla) Emanuel of Marshville, NC, Brent and Cody Locklear of Lumberton. In addition to her children and grandchildren, Ola was loved by eight great- grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.

   Mama was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her. Before retiring, she worked at LRDA and enjoyed farming with her husband. She enjoyed talking with family and friends about the “good ole days” while sitting under her carport and making memories with family and friends. During her last days here, she wanted everyone she knew to know that she loved them dearly. She was ready to meet her Lord and Savior and to be with family and friends she was joining in Heaven. Mama will be greatly missed by her family and friends; however, we take comfort in knowing she is in the arms of the Father and she is at peace and finally “home”.
