Nora Hunt Obituary

Nora Dean Hunt, age 52, of Fayetteville, NC departed this life into the arms of the Lord

Jesus Christ, to join her loved ones, on March 4, 2024, at Duke University Medical Center

in Durham, NC surrounded by family and friends.

Nora was born April 21, 1971, the daughter of Norma Hunt and the late Jackie W. Hunt.

Nora was proceeded in death by her maternal grandparents, Hughie & Vivian D.

Oxendine (Mama Monk); maternal uncle Michael A. Oxendine; paternal grandparents

Jack & Laney Hunt.

Nora leaves behind to cherish her memories, but will always be watching over, her

children; Raven, Jonathan, Miguel, and Lilly Langley; one grandchild, Emersyn and best

friend and partner of 30 years, Dawn Langley of the home. She is also survived by her

mother, Norma D. Hunt, her sister, Crystal D. Lamb (Casey), her niece, Carmyn and

nephew, Cooper Lamb; one brother, James Willis Hunt, and a host of family and friends.

Nora graduated from West Robeson Sr High in 1989 and received a Bachelor of Science

in Business Administration from UNC at Pembroke in 1994.

Nora touched many lives and will be remembered as a devoted friend, sister, niece,

daughter, aunt and cousin. A family leader and strong voice for all, she was swift to assist

family and friends in need. She loved spoiling her niece and looked forward to spoiling

her new nephew as well. She was her mom and sister’s strength and the best cheerleader. Her

praise and faith in family were as powerful as her love. Her family was first and foremost

on her agenda. A force to be reckoned with, Nora will always be remembered for the

generous and supportive person that she was.

Her best achievement was the care and support she gave to her children. The happiest day

of her life was when her first child of four called her “momma” for the first time, from that

moment on, she spent every minute of every day giving selflessly to them. Being a

mother and meeting the special needs of her children was her calling. She loved them

unconditionally and without boundaries. At times overwhelming, leaning on God for her

strength, no challenges or obstacles were too large to overcome for them.

Her work is now done, and she is at rest. Her children all know that it was not possible to

give more or love any deeper than she loved them.  Nora will be greatly missed by all who

knew and loved her.
