Nelson Cummings, 90, was born February 17, 1935, and left his earthly home on February 26, 2025 at his home in Sophia, NC surrounded by family and friends.

Nelson was preceded in death by his parents, Abby and Lillie Mae Cummings, his wife, Ruby Cummings, two sons, Ricky Cummings, and Rex Cummings, a daughter, Diane Cummings, two brothers, Abby Cummings and Wade Cummings, three sisters, Annie Hammonds, Corinthian Cummings and Mamie Cummings, and a grandchild Trevor Spainhour.

Nelson is survived by his brother, Sam Cummings, his daughters, Tammy Cummings, Pamela Cummings and Barbara Cummings, special grandchildren, Jessica Cumming (Dustin Jarrett), Matthew Byerly, Nikki Cummings, David Spainhour, Joseph Spainhour, the great grandchildren Ja’blesses Smith, Trevor Cummings, Lewis Cummings, Prodigy Smith, Alania Byerly, Thomas Murphy, Reece Byerly, Landon Byerly and two great-great grandchildren, along with nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.

Nelson was loved beyond words. He was a Christian man who loved his family. He was a hard worker and loved Nascar and Wrestling and Westerns.
