NeEssie (Seals) Pierce

 NeEssie Pierce entered her heavenly home on January 25, 2023 at the age of 86. She was born on July 13th, 1936 to Mary Jane & Arter Seals. She grew up in rural Robeson County where her parents were farmers. NeEssie is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 66 years James “Cas” Pierce; 1 sister Bobbie Elaine; 2 brothers Arter Jr and Robert Seals; 1 daughter Mary Lee Pierce Villa and 1 grandson Cody Lemar Pierce. NeEssie was a devout Christian and loved her church family. Over the years, she held many positions at Smyrna Baptist Church where she was a member for almost 60 years. One of her favorite pastimes was reminiscing with photos visiting with family and friends. Mrs Pierce was a foster parent for several years and after raising her children, she opened flea market shops that she ran until she retired. 

NeEssie is survived by 4 sons Curtis, James Earl; Howard (Ella Mae) and Casey (Ann) ; 1 son -in -law Poncho Villa ; 1 daughter Pamela (Fabio) Villa Borrero all of Lumberton. 2 Brothers Earl (Valen)Seals of Lumberton & Rudolph (Kim) Seals of Summerville SC. 4 sisters Sarah Olive Oxendine of Lumberton; Nyoka (Taft) Smith of Lumberton; Peggy Locklear of Lumberton & Julie (Mario)Brienza of New York. 15 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren & 3 great-great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
