Michael Scott

Mr. Michael C. Scott, 66, of Lumberton, NC went to his heavenly home on September 6, 2025 at his residence. Mike was born in Robeson County, NC on December 27, 1958, a son of the late John Ander Scott and the late Anne Collins Scott. He was blessed to have two additional mothers who loved him very much, Alice Scott and the late Annie Scott (and the late Ander Scott).

He was preceded in death by the love of his life of 40 years, Shelia Scott, also three uncles raised as brothers, Bill Scott, Earl Scott, and Donald Ray Scott and five aunts raised as sisters, Perlie Scott, Sera Revels, Winnie Locklear, Docia Scott, and Wanda Scott.

Michael is survived by his two children, Amy Scott and Jason Scott of Lumberton. Michael cherished his grandchildren, Kiara Sweat, Layleeona Sweat, Vivianna Hunt, Justice Scott, and Akisha Scott. He was blessed with four great grands, Ahbraylee Parker, Alara Stephens and the twins, Auloni Stephens and Aiden Stephens, He is also survived by his brothers and their wives, Kevin Scott (Angela), Jackie Scott (Michelle), David Scott (Gerald), all of St. Pauls, his two sisters, Cathy Conley (the late Hearl Conley) and Brenda Locklear (Cagle). 

Michael was blessed to grow up in a loving home with his uncles who were raised as brothers, Delton Scott (Bonnie), Charlie (Norma), and Thomas Scott (Joan) all of Pembroke, also, aunts that were raised as sisters, Betty Bullard (Horace), the late Annette Scott, the late Nancy Bullard (the late Denver). Additionally, a cousin that was raised as a sister, Veronica Scott.

Michael was a man who loved his family and was a devoted friend. He will be remembered for all the laughs he provided and his everlasting generous spirit. Mike Scott was a racing legend in Robeson County, he loved to cook on the grill for his family and friends and was a hard-working man. He will be missed beyond measure.
