Mr. Max Elliott Lowry 56, of Pembroke, NC was born January 5, 1966, to the late Richard Seavie Lowry Sr., and Nettie Brooks Lowry. He departed this life on Monday, January 11, 2022, at his home. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents William Lowry and Crossie Maynor Lowry and his maternal grandparents Peter Brooks and Addie Cummings Brooks.
Max graduated from West Robeson in 1984 and received hands on work experience with his brothers in the plumbing business. He worked several years with Lowry Plumbing Company and became a very skilled plumber. He decided to spread his wings and later pursued opportunities working for the union in various states with plumbing and electrical.
He loved the game of football and that passion drove him to go to Elon University to pursue that childhood dream. As an offensive and defensive tackle Max was a natural and gifted athlete who excelled at his role of protecting the quarterback. He always enjoyed the simple things of life like family, friends and watching a good game of ball.
He is preceded in death by two sisters Laura Faye Locklear (Harold) and Una Gale Lowry.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory a loving wife of five years Cattie Harris Lowry and two children Aaron Locklear of Charleston, SC and Ashley Locklear Chavis (Travis) of Raynham, NC. He also leaves behind one sister, Attie L. Locklear and two brothers, Richard S. Lowry (Vickie) and William “Thornton” Lowry (Fannie) all of Pembroke, NC. He had a very special relationship with a sister-in-law, Cassie C. Lowry and a very special brother, Howard Brooks (Brenda). His life will be remembered by a host of family and friends.
