Mason Lee Strickland, born January 13, 2006, passed away on March 21, 2026, far too soon at the age of 20. He was preceded in death by his beloved grandfather, Leon Allen “Big Lee”. Mason is survived by his parents, Kelvin and Zenetta Strickland; grandparents Preacher Jimmy and Frances Strickland, and Grandma Gwendolyn Allen; brother Kamron Strickland (McKenzie); aunts Tara Denise Oxendine (Casey) and Tasha Strickland; uncles Leon Allen Jr and Jimmy Ray Strickland (Christina), cousins, Drew Allen, Brody Allen and Kailey Strickland; special friend, Kiersten Strickland, along with many extended family members and friends who loved him deeply.

Mason graduated from Purnell Swett High School and Richmond Community College in 2024, earning his degree in welding. Even while in high school, he was already working toward his college education, showing determination and a strong work ethic from an early age. In October 2025, he continued pursuing his goals by earning his CDL's at Richmond Community College.  Mason was a faithful and active member of the Pentecostal Church of God, where he was raised by his parents and grandparents. His faith and upbringing were a meaningful part of who he was.

Mason had a passion for riding his Harley. The moment he felt the wind on his face, he knew it was something he would love forever. He put more miles on his motorcycle than his car and loved nothing more than to “cut the block.” He cherished time spent with his “bonfire” friends at the pond, where laughter and memories were always shared. An avid fisherman, Mason loved the outdoors and living life to the fullest—he was truly “wide open.” His dogs, Bo and Remi, were his constant companions and brought him endless joy.

Mason was known for his big, unforgettable smile. He didn’t always say a lot, but his smile spoke volumes and left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He formed strong bonds with his motorcycle family and touched the lives of all those he worked with. A true mama’s boy, Mason held his family close to his heart. He especially loved his Papa and Granny’s red velvet and chocolate layer cake. His favorite words, “cut it out,” will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew him.

Mason was a dedicated person who loved to work. He was always chasing dreams and storms, driven to build a future for himself. He enjoyed the rewards of his hard work and lived life on his own terms. Mason shared a special bond with his brother, Kamron. He looked up to him deeply and was the best baby brother Kamron could have ever asked for.

Mason will be remembered for his love of life, his loyalty to those he cared about, and the joy he brought to everyone around him.
