Lou Ellen Burns "Lou El" was born on June 24, 1947 and departed this life on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at the age of 78.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bowman and Luvenia Locklear, one sister, Costella Hunt, her loving husband of 51 years, Delton Burns and one granddaughter, Sydney Nicolette Paige Burns.

Lou Ellen was survived by two daughters, Shawanna Burns of the home, Shannon Burns Dial (Robbie) of Pembroke, a son, Charles Burns (Brandy) of Maxton, three sisters, Cynthia "B" Blue of Maxton, Joann Bullard of Maxton and Sylvia Locklear of Rowland, five brothers, Homan Locklear of Fairmont, Herbert Locklear of Fairmont, Jerry Locklear of Fairmont, Timmy Locklear of Rowland, Terry Locklear of Fairmont, seven grandchildren, Jaydan, Hailey, Braylon, Brannon, Jayce, Elias and Dakota, great grandchildren, Rayleigh, Zaylon and Adalyn and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
