Lola Marel Hunt, 80, of Fairmont, NC departed this life on December 5, 2024. Lola was born September 4, 1944 to the late Cisero and Ethel Hunt Mitchell.
Lola worked many years on the farm and later retired from Quick Manufacturing. Lola’s passions in this life was her church, her children, her grandchildren and her gardening. Lola would spend countless hours working in her garden. She did not mind telling Walter and Lester what they were doing wrong in their gardens. Lola would always say “there is always something”.
She is preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Daniel, Clemon and Buddy Mitchell, two sisters, Sarah Jane Oxendine, and Margaret Spaulding.
Lola is survived by two brothers, Kale, and David Mitchell both of Fairmont, her husband, Silvester Hunt, two daughters, Gail Mitchell (Jim) of Fairmont, and Sylvia Taylor (Ralph) of West Port, Indiana, one son Timothy Wayne Hunt (Angie) of West Port, Indiana, nine grandchildren, and one great grandchild (her boo boo), extended family and many devoted friends.
Visitation will be held at New Bethel Holiness Methodist Church on Sunday, December 8, 2024, from 1-2pm followed by the funeral services. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
