Lola Blue Obituary
Ms. Lola Blue, age 78, was born on May 4, 1947, to Georgia Locklear in Robeson County. She peacefully departed this life into eternity on December 15, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her mother, Georgia Locklear; her daughter, Tanya Strickland; her brother, Cheso Locklear; and her sister, Pamela Goins.
She leaves to cherish her memory her three daughters, Crystal Blue and Tonya Strickland, both of the home, and Emily Locklear (Alex) of Pembroke; grandchildren, Mark, Lexy, Ethan, Lydia, Jaylen, Chloe, Georgia, Joel, and Jayla; great-grandchildren, Leland, Weston, Jamir, and Jaylani; a special sister-in-law, Annie Carol; nieces and nephews, Natalie, Hannah, Tiffany, Gino, and Aniyah; and a host of family and friends.
Momma was a strong and loving woman who devoted her life to her family. She taught all her children to be independent, to take care of what needed to be done, and to stand on their own. Her love was deep and unconditional, yet she never hesitated to speak her mind and put you in your place when needed—always from a place of care and wisdom. She believed in doing right, working hard, and loving fully.
In addition to caring for her family, Momma was a dedicated and hardworking woman. She spent over 30 years employed at Burlington Mills in Raeford, NC, where she was known for her strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment. Her career there reflected the same determination and sense of responsibility she carried throughout her life.
Family was the center of Momma’s world. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, resilience, honesty, and love that will continue through her children, grandchildren, and all who were blessed to know her.
A tribute written by her granddaughter:
“Lola, as strong as an ox and as gracious as Jesus Himself—where are the bounds of your love? No one could ever find them. How do you love so fiercely and forgive so freely? Where do you carry all that weight? Give it to me; I will carry it now. You have taught us to love so well and love well we will. Our matriarch, our North Star, our queen.”
