Linda Sampson DuBois, age 76, of Lumberton, NC passed away peacefully at Southeastern Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family members on November 4, 2020.
She was born on October 10, 1944 in Lumberton, NC to Claude A. and Mary Locklear Sampson. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Jasper Lynwood Sampson.
Left to cherish her memory her husband of 50 years, Leland A. DuBois II; her sisters, Lae Ruth Always of Pembroke, Leconda (Gary) Rowe of Lumberton; her brothers, Lee Edward Sampson of Pembroke and Claude A. (Rosa) Sampson Jr. of Harriman TN. She loved all her nephew, nieces, grandnephews, and grandnieces. She loved her church family and many friends. A special thanks to her niece, Jennifer (Blake) Locklear of Lumberton; and grandniece, Emily Always of Detroit, Mich.
Linda was an educator in Elementary education teaching primary K-3 mostly in Hoke County for 30 years leading and guiding her children. She was dedicated to her church, Deep Branch Missionary Baptist Church holding several positions and enjoying VBS and WMU. She was an active member of the Southern Spirt Elders’ Club of the Lumbee Tribe. She love to shop and travel on bus tours and cruises. She was always on the go. Linda will be missed by her family, church, and friends however, we take comfort in knowing she is finally “Home”!
