Ms. Letha M. Hunt Shifflett, 87, of GlenFlora Nursing Home died Wednesday of congestive heart failure at SRMC of Lumberton.
Ms. Letha was born August 13, 1932 in Robeson County. She departed this life on November 6, 2019.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Noah Shifflett; her father, Juddie Hunt; and her mother, Bertha Hunt.
Ms. Letha was a home-maker and a life-long member of Fairpoint Freewill Baptist Church in Fairmont. Survivors involved in Ms. Letha’s daily life and activities include her devoted first cousin/sister, Ms. Cora Lee Robinson and special niece Virginia Robinson, both of Fairmont; adopted mother, Ms. Lennie Jacobs; adopted niece and nephew, Ethal Jane and James Jacobs, all of Lumberton; and long-time special care giver, Georgeanna Cox of Fairmont.
Additional relatives of Ms. Letha’s, while not involved in her daily life, also occupied her thoughts and prayers and include special nieces, Renee (April) Hunt and family of Fayetteville, and Crystal Hunt and family of Ohio; special nephews, Rio Hunt and family of Nevada, Jim Robinson and family of Iowa, Marty Robinson and family of Arizona, and John Robinson and family of Fuquay. Ms. Letha is also survived by sister Lillian (Moxie) Locklear of Robeson County; and many other very special friends and relatives too numerous to list, but are included in Ms. Letha’s 87 years of memories.
