Mr. Kirby C. Ammons Sr. of Lumberton, NC was born on January 1, 1945 and departed this life on July 12, 2021 at Scotland Memorial Hospital.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Ludahlia Ammons; his father, Delbert Ammons; and his daughter, Mary L. Ammons.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Mary E. Ammons; son, Kirby Ammons Jr.; daughters, Cordahlia Ammons-McKinney (Moyo McKinney) and Racheal Ammons (James Nealy Jr.); 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
He was a part of the Coharie Indian Nation of Sampson, NC. He spent his life serving the Lord and others. He served in the Army Special Force, doing two tours in Vietnam. He was a prison camp guard, chief of police in Pembroke, NC, and a probation parole officer.
