With broken hearts and unwavering faith in God’s promises, we announce the passing of our beloved Kayla Marie Wickens, who entered her heavenly home on June 29, 2026, at UNC Chapel Hill. She was 33 years old.

Kayla was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a cherished daughter, sister, aunt, and faithful servant of Jesus Christ. Her life was a beautiful testimony of unconditional love, unwavering faith, and selfless sacrifice. She lived each day seeking to glorify the Lord, whether through her beautiful voice lifted in praise, the care she showed to those around her, or the compassion she extended to every life she encountered.

To know Kayla was to experience genuine kindness. She never met a stranger, and every soul she touched was forever changed by her warmth, grace, and love. Her heart for others extended beyond people—her beloved animals held a special place in her heart, and they, too, knew the gentleness and care she so freely gave.

Kayla leaves behind the love of her life and devoted husband, Daniel Wickens, of the home, who will forever cherish the covenant they shared. She also leaves behind her greatest earthly treasures, her three beloved children: Natalie, Nathanael, and Serenity, who will continue to carry her legacy of faith, love, and compassion.

She is also survived by her loving mother, Tresa Revels, and father, Brad Revels, both of Maxton; her brothers, Joshua Dean Hunt of Pembroke and Dakota Locklear of Red Springs; her sister, Courtney Locklear of Maxton; her cherished niece, Kaelyn McCrae of Maxton; her nephew, Sincere Thompson of Maxton; along with countless aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and dear friends whose lives were richly blessed by knowing her.

Kayla also leaves behind her church family at Radical Praise Ministries in Laurinburg, where she faithfully worshiped and joyfully sang praises to the Lord she loved so deeply.

Kayla truly embodied the heart of the woman described in Proverbs 31. She faithfully loved her husband, nurtured her children, served others with humility, and honored God in every season of her life. She leaves behind a legacy not measured by earthly possessions, but by the countless lives she impacted through her faith, generosity, and unwavering love.

As Scripture reminds us:

“An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels. The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain. She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life.” — Proverbs 31:10–12

Though our hearts ache beyond words, we find comfort in knowing that Kayla’s suffering has ended, her race has been completed, and she now rejoices in the presence of her Savior. Until we meet again, we will carry her love in our hearts, honor the example she set before us, and find hope in the promise that, because of Christ, this is not goodbye—it is simply “until we meet again.”
