Kayla N. Hammonds

   On Monday November 21, 2022 Kayla Nicole Hammonds, loving daughter, sister and mother of two passed away at the age of thirty-one. Kayla is a graduate of Lumberton Senior High School class of 2009. She was currently working as a travel phlebotomist with Mako Medical Laboratories.  She was born September 17, 1991 in Lumberton, North Carolina the daughter of Jimmy and Sherry Hammonds. 

   Kayla was a loving and compassionate person. She had the most beautiful smile that could light up your soul.  Kayla loved singing, always had the best hair and makeup and could cook a good meal. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends laughing and living life to the fullest.  Most of all she loved and adored her children, they were her world. If you were lucky enough to be present when she gazed into her children’s faces, the pure joy radiating from her would blind you. Kayla wanted nothing more for them than to have a wonderful life.

   She is proceeded in death by her grandparents Myrtle Rose and Jerry Stephens and Vivian Hammonds. She is survived by her loving children Kaylin Hammonds and Emori Wilkerson; her mother Sherry Hammonds and father Jimmy Hammonds; her grandparents JW Hammonds (Resa); her sisters Morgan Hammonds and Candace Grimsley(Travis); her brother Josh Maynor (Megan); her niece Peyton Grimsley; her Nephew Jace Maynor; Multiple aunts and uncles; numerous cousins (cuzos); and an immeasurable amount loving friends who are like family. 

   She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
