Karroll Jo Meares, 76, of Lumberton, NC, passed away on January 7, 2022, after a prolonged illness, with her devoted husband at her side.
Karroll was born to Virgil and Elizabeth Foutch on June 27, 1945. She lived her early years in Indiana and her later years in Lumberton, North Carolina.
Karroll enjoyed the flora and fauna wherever she lived – always doting over her pets and ready to feed any stray animal. In her later years, she enjoyed spending time sitting outside watching hummingbirds while her dogs and cats played. She appreciated beautiful landscaping filled with colorful flowers, bushes, and trees. She enjoyed traveling to Tucson, AZ, to visit her daughter and family, where she was fascinated by all the Saguaro cacti and surrounding mountains.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Kenneth Meares, daughter, Tammy Bradshaw, stepdaughter Kimberly (Dan) Walsh, grandchildren; Caleb (Tatum) Bradshaw, Gaston Trey Floyd III, Hunter (Kaitee) Floyd; great grandchildren, Adalia, Noble and Clementine Bradshaw and Emillia Floyd. She is also survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Suzanne Foutch, and sisters Julie Hansmann and Janet Foutch; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Jerry Foutch and sister Jenny Foutch.
