Mrs. Karen Louise Townsend Dial, 69, of Prospect Rd, Pembroke, NC was born November 10, 1952 to the late William Clarence Townsend and Julia Lowery Townsend Bullard. She departed this life June 6, 2022 at First Health Moore Regional Hospital. She is preceded in death by one sister, Mildred Townsend.
Mrs. Karen, survived by her husband of 43 years, Mr. Carlton Drake Dial, of the home; a son Mr. Bryan Townsend (Rochelle) of Jacksonville, NC; two daughters: Mrs. Carrie Dial Sampson (Jarette) of Pembroke, NC and Mrs. Julianna Dial Dennis (Michael) of Pinehurst, NC and seven grandchildren (Ryan, Ariel, Dalton, Abigail, Ayden, Liam and Kieran), and five great-grandchildren.
Surviving siblings are five brothers: Mr. Larry M. Townsend, Mr. Garry L. Townsend, both of Pembroke, NC; Mr. A. Dale Townsend, of House Springs, MO; Mr. Keith D. Townsend, of Red Springs, NC; Mr. Leslie C. Bullard, of Ridge Manor, FL; one sister: Mrs. Jeannie B. Locklear of West End, NC. Also mourning her departure are a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends who became like family.
Mrs. Karen retired from the town of Pembroke after 41 years of service. Some of her hobbies and interest included reading, shopping, and spending time at the beach with family and friends. She was a devoted member of Prospect United Methodist Church, serving in many capacities over the decades.
