Judy Lane Oxendine, 68, of Pembroke, NC was born on December 5th, 1954. She departed this life on Sunday, May 28th 2023 in Columbia, SC.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents, Willie Lee Locklear and Virgie Bullard; her step-mother, Pearline Locklear; her brothers, Vincent Locklear, Jeffery Locklear, Roger Locklear, and Lee Locklear and her sister, Barbara Locklear; and her grandson Benjamin Locklear.
Judy is survived by her three daughters, Carmen Locklear, Katrina Locklear and Brandy Bridges; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one brother, (Lou) Gary Chavis. She leaves behind a host of family and friends.
Judy was raised in Baltimore, Maryland until 1972 when she moved to Hoke County, NC with relatives. She started working at House of Raeford where she met her first husband, Brantley. They started a family in 1973 with Carmen, followed by Katrina in 1974 and finally with Brandy in 1979. She worked various jobs until she started at Croft Metals in Lumber Bridge in the mid-1980s. During this time, she met her second husband, Mitchell Oxendine. She eventually trained as a Certified Nursing Assistant working in home health helping to assist in the care of senior adults. She dedicated her life to the Lord in 1990. She was a member Pembroke Church of God and later become a member of New Jerusalem Holiness Church. Judy loved being a grandmother and great-grandmother spending time making many memories with them. She also enjoyed reading her Bible, playing games, cross-stitching and puzzles.
Judy was a dedicated God-fearing woman who loved fiercely. She was blessed with the love of her family and their love in return.’
