Jude Bullard, Jr. Obituary

Mr. Jude Bullard, Jr., 83 of Pembroke, NC., was called home by our Lord and Savior to Glory on Wednesday, December 31, 2025. He passed peacefully with his wife by his side.
Mr. Jude, widely regarded as a remarkable individual, began his earthly journey in Maxton, NC on May 18, 1942. He was the eldest son and third child born to Mr. Jude and Mrs. Sallie Bullard and was grateful to have a family dynamic that included loving parents, four sisters and four brothers, and a large number of extended family members all in the Prospect Community. Being born into a rural farming community, Mr. Jude learned the value of hard work, but also the value of the rewards for his efforts. He never forgot this and was known for helping to pass this knowledge on to all.
Mr. Jude proudly served our country in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict and earned a Bronze Star Medal for Heroism in Combat in 1968. He rarely talked about his time in the service, but the few memories he spoke of were happy memories of the comradery he shared with his fellow soldiers. Mr. Jude was also a devout Christian, attending Prospect Community Church of which he became a member on March 17, 1954, over 70 years ago.  He served at least one term on every major committee of the church during his time on Earth, bringing his large depth of knowledge and "Christ-Centeredness" to each meeting he attended. He was not a loud speaker when he spoke, but when he did speak, people stopped what they were doing and listened.
Mr. Jude enjoyed classic cars and was naturally fond of his 1960 Ford Sunliner. He entered many car shows and accumulated many trophies and honorable mentions. He rarely took the car out on the roads of Robeson County, but when he did, he received compliments from friends and strangers alike regarding the great care and upkeep of the vehicle.
Mr. Jude leaves behind his wife, Freida Oxendine, of 50 years. Having no children of his own, he shared special, strong bonds with his nephews and nieces whom he loved beyond measure. He leaves many fond memories with them all. Mr. Jude was a wonderful example of a husband, brother, uncle, Mason, Shriner, and, most importantly, he was considered a friend by many. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Jude Bullard, Sr. and Sallie Bullard, and siblings: Betty Jo, Shelby Jean, Carl Eugene, Lynn Edward, and Murray Bullard.  He leaves behind his sisters, Geraldine Maynor and Rebecca Lowry (William), his brother Aubrey Bullard (Normie), and a host of beloved cousins, nephews, and nieces.
As we bid farewell to Mr. Jude, we hold dear the memories of the love and the joy he brought into our lives. May he rest in eternal peace at God's side as his "good and faithful servant," for his memory will forever shine brightly as a beacon of love and strength to all whose lives he touched.
