Joshua Alton Locklear was born on January 22, 1987, to the late Dexter Locklear and Jennifer Lloyd. On June 19, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer, Josh peacefully entered into eternal rest.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dexter Locklear; his paternal grandparents, Zelma and Curency Locklear; and his maternal grandparents, Lillian and Alton "Buck" Lloyd.

Josh was a devoted father to his beloved children, Abel Locklear and Azalie Locklear. He was a beloved brother to Erica Brayboy (DJ) and Brandon Locklear, and a proud uncle to Zoey, Sadie, and Lathan Brayboy, and Chenoa, Dakota, and Shirley Locklear, all of whom he loved dearly.

Josh shared a loving relationship with Renoda Cummings, whose love, comfort, and companionship meant so much to him. She will forever cherish the memories they created together.

Josh was a kind-hearted man with a gentle spirit who never met a stranger. He loved people unconditionally and was always willing to lend a helping hand or offer words of encouragement. Although Josh faced many challenges throughout his life, he never allowed them to change the kindness of his heart or the goodness of his soul. He enjoyed sports, riding dirt bikes, and ATVs, but his greatest passion was the people he loved. He will be remembered for his compassion, generosity, and unwavering love for family and friends.

While his passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of those who loved him, they find comfort in knowing he is no longer suffering and is resting peacefully in the presence of the Lord.
