Jimmy Earl McMillian, 68, was born in Lillington, NC on July 15, 1952
and gained his wings on January 1, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He served his country for over 20 years and received numerous medals of honor; Kuwait Liberation Medal, three Bronze Service Stars, Army Commendation Medal & two Good Conduct Medals. He also served in Desert Storm and was an Army Reservist after active duty.
Jimmy attended Coastal Carolina Community College where he obtained his Associate Degree in Criminal Justice. He worked as a correctional officer for over 20 years and worked as an Assistant Program Manager for Community Innovations.
Jimmy was a dedicated Deacon at Pleasant View Missionary Baptist Church. He also served as an adult Sunday School Teacher, Senior Choir Vice-President, a member of the All-Male Choir, and a member of the Planning Committee.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 22 years, Joan McMillian; one daughter, Kimberly Harris (Leonard); seven step-children, Gary Cromartie, Stephone Cromartie (Effie) , Micheal Cromartie (Patricia), Randy Glover (David), Sheila Glover (Anthony), Michelle Glover (Carlton) & Shawn Glover; two grandchildren Byron McMillian & Ryan Graham; two great grandchildren, Ember & Asher Graham;; four sisters, Alberta McMillian (Robert), Martha Mute, Novela McMillian & Viola King; thirteen step grandchildren; three nieces; Gwen, Bonnie & Debra; sixteen nephews; Lutrell, Bruce, Jathan, Marcus, James Robert, Raynard, Robert, Glenn, Jimmy, Juspin, Ben, Ricky, Isaac, Rod, Daron, & Johnny; two brother-in laws, Harry McMillian (Joyce) & William McMillian (Linda); and host of close relatives & friends.
