Jerry Locklear

   Mr. Jerry Locklear, 70, of Buie-Philadelphus Rd. went to his heavenly home on March 2nd, 2021 surrounded by family. He was born February 15th, 1951 to Mr. and Mrs. Clement and Betty Locklear.

   He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Cathy Oxendine and Patsy Locklear; a nephew, Gerald Locklear; one niece, Scarlet Brown; and a great nephew, Channing O’Ryan Oxendine.

   He leaves behind to cherish his memories four brothers, Jeffery, Clement Jr., Jimmy and Marlin Locklear; one sister, Belinda Strickland (Drake); two special nieces, Myra Oxendine-Bell and Cathy Ilena Strickland; a special nephew, Dray Aaron Strickland; and a special nephew in-law, Scott Bell.

A special acknowledgment to his caregivers, Hattie Locklear, Liza Locklear, Linda Locklear-Cooper and Jonathan Prather of Prather Family Care. In addition, all the residents who were also Jerry’s family who he loved dearly.

   Jerry was full of life he loved people and he loved talking to people. He remembered everybody and never forgot anything. Jerry loved church and attended every Sunday in addition to every other chance he got. Jerry was huge Nascar fan and loved watching the races he also loved Pepsi! So much can be said of Jerry and that huge smile. But, one thing for sure he will be missed by his family and friends and our lives will be forever changed without Jerry but better for knowing him.
