Jerry Lee Hammonds, 76, was born on December 19, 1949 in Saddletree NC to the late James Edward and Vonnie Mae Hammonds. He departed this life in his sleep at home on March 12, 2026.

He is preceded in death in death by his three sisters, Dora Mae, Theresa Gail, and Phyllis Hammonds, his six brothers, James Edward Jr., Robbie Neil, Bradley Dale, Garry Edwin, Anthony and Jackie Hammonds, and his son Jeremy Fitzgerald Hammonds.

 Jerry was a Christ loving man and a longtime member of Bethel Hill Baptist Church. After retiring from Campbell Soup Company, he volunteered on several mission trips to South Dakota and the Philippines to win souls. He loved horticulture and could grow anything anywhere. He enjoyed spending time with family, friends, fishing, gardening, traveling, and attending church and did exactly that in his final years.

He is survived by his son William Patrick Hammonds and his wife Rose Marie Hammonds, his sister Lora Kay, two grandchildren, Bethanie and Oryan, and one great grandchild Ohlyus, and a host of nieces and nephews and a dear friend Sue. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.
