Jean Locklear

Our beloved Mrs. Jean Wilkins Locklear, 83, of 199 Arry Jean Road, Lumberton, NC was born July 12, 1942 in Lumberton, NC and departed this life on Tuesday, August 12, 2025.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Locklear, Jr, her mother, Thelma Wilkins, and her daughter, Lisa Lynn Locklear, her aunts, Gladys Nevilles and Grace Oxendine, and her uncle Wishart Wilkins and his wife, Mary Alice Wilkins.

Jean graduated from Magnolia High School. She loved traveling with her family; her favorite place to travel was to the Great Smokey Mountains. She enjoyed fishing and hunting. Jean was a faithful woman of God who loved the Lord dearly.

She could brighten up any room with her smile and loved her family. She had many gifts and talents. She was dedicated employee with Converse for over 30 years. She then shared her gifts and talents with Lillians’ Florist in Pembroke for five years and later worked at Walmart in Pembroke. Her positive customer service landed her the position as a people greeter for fifteen years.

Mrs. Jean is survived by her son, William Allen Locklear, of the home, whom she loved dearly. They shared a very special bond. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed. We have comfort in knowing heaven has gained another angel.
