Ms. Jean Marie Britt, age 90, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2025, at Wood Haven Nursing Center in Lumberton, NC, the city where she was born and spent her life.

Born on November 7, 1934, Jean was the daughter of Evander Colon Britt and Ollie Nobles Britt. She grew up alongside her siblings, Billy French Britt and Penny Hartzler, all of whom preceded her in death. After she retired from the Robeson County Courthouse Clerk of Courts' office, she spent many years working and volunteering at UNC Health Southeastern (formerly SRMC).

She is survived by her daughter, Lynette Lamb and husband Mike, her granddaughter, Heather Lamb Greene and husband Chris, her great-granddaughters, Claudia Greene and Greta Greene Rosario and husband Cris, and two cherished great-great-granddaughters, Scarlett and Katherine.

Though arrangements have not yet been finalized, the family invites those wishing to honor Jean's love of animals to consider a donation to the Robeson County Humane Society at PO Box 3609, Lumberton, NC 28359.
