Mr. James Calvin (Pete) Strickland was born on January 27, 1965, to Ivory and Patrica Strickland. He departed this life on April 26, 2025, completing his journey of 60 years.

Pete was preceded in death by his mother and father and one brother Adolph. His maternal grandparents James and Bessie Dunn Oxendine, one nephew B.J. Blue

He is survived by sister Lorriane (Bobby) Blue, his son Cody Tyler Strickland, one daughter Taylor (Charlie), and brother Michael Chris Chavis (April).

The love of his life Ms. Tara Ransom who was with him through thickness and thin. Pete had two grandchildren who has his pride and joy Jahaven and Jakiyan Contras. They loved their Papa and their Papa loved them. He also leaves a nephew and three nieces, one special nephew Chuck Austin Oxendine Jr. relatives and friends that loved and will miss him.
