Mr. James Edward Hammonds, Jr., known as (Ginny Head, Wild Child, Tony), 74, of Shannon, NC passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at his home.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James Edward Hammonds and Vonnie Mae Ridout, four brothers, Bradley (Papus) Hammonds, Robbie (Slogie) Hammonds, Jackie Hammonds, Gary (Cowboy) Hammonds, three sisters, Dora (Squeaky) Hammonds, Teresa Bartholf and Phyllis Hammonds, one grandson, London Lynn Hammonds. 

Ginney Head was retired as a brick mason for 40+ years.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann Hammonds, two daughters, Tina (Shane) Matson and Valerie (John Paul) Goins, one son Tony (Katie) Hammonds, eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren, and a host of family and friends. He is also survived by his two brothers, Jerry Hammonds and Anthony Hammonds, and one sister, Lora (Popeye) Hammonds.
