James Argus Jones

   Mr. James (Jay) Argus Jones Sr., 86, of 6557 Rennert Road, Shannon, the son of the late Mr. Raymond Jones and the late Mrs. Nannie (Candy) Jones was born on March 25, 1936, in Robeson County. He departed this life into eternity on Thursday, March 31, 2022, at UNC Health Southeastern, Lumberton.

   Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Jean Jones; a granddaughter, Etiska (TT) Shae Locklear; two brothers, Rex Allen Jones, and Clyde Jones; two stepbrothers, Graham Jones, and J. Oxendine; and a sister, Lucindy (Brenda) Locklear.

   Mr. James (Jay) Argus Jones Sr. leaves to cherish his loving memories his sons, James Argus Jones Jr. (Sara), Randy Jones (Annette), Alexander Jones (Kasion), Zachary Prescott Jones (Jasmine) all of Shannon, and Timothy Charles Jones (Tangela) of Wilmington; his daughters, Twyla Fay Oxendine of Lumberton, Elisa Jones Oxendine and Katara Ilena Hunt (Demonion), both of Shannon, and Wanda Jones Monroe (Douglas) of St. Paul's; three brothers, Bobby Jones of Shannon, Jerry Jones (Margaret) of Red Springs, and Arnold Jones of St. Pauls; two stepbrothers, Larry Oxendine (Mildred), and Terry Oxendine; three sisters, Louise Oxendine and Mary Brewer (Carlos) of Shannon, and Linda Locklear (James Earl) of Pembroke; a stepsister, Sarah Oxendine; 14 grandchildren, Ashley, George, Alexus, Donavon, Jaycob, Payton, Charles "Chuck", Alyssa, Landon, Tyson, Ava, Ellen "Bella", Kellan and Daxton; six great-grandchildren, Kira, Ayden, Christian, Kendra, Colin, and Noah; and a host of other relatives and friends
