Halsey Oxendine Obituary
Mr. Halsey Oxendine, 81, of Pembroke, was born July 16, 1943, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Rufus and Polly Oxendine (Locklear). He departed this life and entered into his heavenly home on May 13, 2025.
Mr. Halsey was preceded in death by his siblings, one brother, Sam Oxendine, four sisters, Ruthie Jane Chavis, Margie Marie Oxendine, Ruby Iola Oxendine, and Edorise Mae Oxendine.
Mr. Oxendine leaves to cherish his memory, two daughters, Debbie O. Locklear and her husband Jeffery of Pembroke, Rita A. Oxendine, who was his devoted caregiver, of Pembroke, and his ex-wife and lifetime special friend, Gerlean L. Oxendine.
Mr. Halsey was blessed with three grandson, Justin W. Locklear, Haloyd B. Locklear, and Christian Oxendine, as well as many nieces, nephews, and other relatives along with a host of friends and loved ones.
Mr. Halsey served in the United States Army from May 3, 1967-May 19, 1971. He worked at the glass plant LOF from 1972 until 1998 when he retired. Mr. Halsey received his electrical license from Richmond Community College.
