Mrs. Gladys Marie Locklear, 75, of 98 Mt. Zion Rd., Lumberton, NC was born on May 25, 1946 and went home to be with the Lord Monday October 18, 2021.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years Mr. James Earl Locklear; her mother, Mrs. Lillie Mae Oxendine; four sisters, Mrs. Jennifer Chavis, Ms. Sandra Kay Oxendine, Mrs. Brenda Locklear and Mrs. Violet Thompson; and one granddaughter, Miss Sakiah Hunt.
Left to cherish her memory her two daughters, Vicky Lynn Spaulding (Daryl) and Jill Locklear and her close friend, James Micheal Harrell; and one son, Fredrick James Locklear (Amelia) all of Lumberton; father, Elkin Wilkins of Lumberton; nine grandchildren, Kayla Hunt (Nolan), Christopher Harrell, Cody Harrell, Evan Spaulding, Shawn Luke Locklear, Joseph Spaulding, Elijah Locklear, Zachery Locklear and Tyler Locklear; five great grandchildren, Kaison Ryan Hunt, Nyla Rose Hunt, Jay’Donce James Harrell, Kehlana Nevay Harrell, Novalee Rae Hunt; eight sisters, Mary Alice Smith of St. Pauls, NC, Betty Ann Jones of Fayetteville, NC, Linda Faye Oxendine of Lumberton, NC, Jeanetter Locklear of St. Pauls, NC, Patsy Oxendine of Raeford, NC, Peggy Chavis of Lumberton, NC., Sandra Mitchell of Shannon, NC., and Darlene Locklear of Lumberton, NC.; seven brothers, Monroe Locklear of Lumberton, NC., Samuel “Pie” Oxendine of St. Pauls, NC., Danny Oxendine and Bobby Oxendine of Lumberton., Otis Wilkins and Odell Wilkins both of Lumberton, NC., and Jerry Wilkins of Shannon, NC.; two special friends, Rachelle Maynor and Alice Faye Revels both of Lumberton, NC.; and a host of relatives and friends.
