Gladys Faye Freeman, 66, of Lumberton, departed this life on July 31, 2018.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Pleasant View Baptist Church in Fairmont, the Bishop Cleo Norton and Rev. Ricky Burnette officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
She was born on June 23, 1952, in Robeson County. Gladys was a graduate of Fairgrove High School; a former employee of Lumbee Regional Development Association for many years and retired from F&J Transportation.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carson and Charity Freeman; her sisters, Naomi Locklear and Janice Freeman; a brother, I.V. (Boot) Freeman; and a sister-in-law, Loretta Freeman.
Gladys leaves behind to cherish her memories; four sons, Robbie A. Hunt (Kay) and Christopher L. Dial both of Lumberton, Rodney Oxendine (Mary) of Rowland, and Cullen R. Freeman of Tampa, Fl; a daughter-in-law Shannon Brewington-Freeman of Tampa, Fl.; her brother, Sam Freeman of Baltimore, MD; a sister, Mary Jane Mantooth and a very special friend Kathy Baxley of the home; and 21 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Also left to cherish Gladys and her smile are a multitude of family members and friends.
