Gerald Jacobs

Mr. Gerald Wayne Jacobs, 71, of 4357 Pine Log Road, Lumberton, entered into the presence of the Lord on October 9, 2025. Brother Gerald was born on July 12, 1954 to Curtis and Minnie Jacobs.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Curtis Jr., Perry and Ronnie Jacobs, on sister Marie Jacobs, a sister-in-law, Holly Jacobs and a nephew, Timothy O’Ryan Jacobs, and a great grandchild, Kinsley Oxendine.

Gerald was a devoted follower of Christ. He was a faithful member of the Rock Church of God. He shared the word of God and his testimony to everyone he encountered. He was kind, able to teach and patient. 1 Corinthians 16:13, “Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.” Gerald married Lillian Collins on November 28, 1975. As they embarked on a lifetime of happiness, they began serving God together. Gerald worked at textile plants as a heavy machine operator until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and football. He also played other outdoor sports on the weekend. He enjoyed beach trips, mountain trips, date nights with his wife and spending time with his family whom he loved dearly.

Surviving to cherish his memories are his wife of 50 years, Mrs. Lillian Collins Jacobs of the home, one daughter, Mrs. LaShawn Willoughby (Darrell) of Lumberton, his mother, Mrs. Minnie Jacobs of Pembroke, three sisters, Ms. Betty Carol Lowery, Mr. Glenda Jacobs (Cassidy) and Ms. Michelle Jacobs all of Pembroke, three brothers, Ricky, Randy, and Roy Jacobs all of Pembroke, brother-in-laws, Alonzo Collins (Beverly), Willie Collins (Linda), both of Newport, NC, sister-in-laws, Alice Collins, Shelby Sweat, Pamela Collins (Ryan), grandchildren, Marie Hunt, Dorann Hunt, Shawn Oxendine, Luther Hunt and Makayla Hunt all of Lumberton, great grandchildren, Annastee, Rayen, Landon, Eli, Daylon, Jaylan, Jariya, and DJ Hunt, a special beloved and devoted niece, Brittany Jacobs, along with numerous nieces and nephews and a numerous number of great nieces and nephews, also a numerous number of friends and family.
